Track your work package's constraints using the Constraints tab.

While O3 supports constraint management for multiple work package types, this article uses IWPs as an example.

This article assumes you have the appropriate permissions to access work packages and constraints. Check with your Project Admin before reading on.

Configuring Constraint Types

Note: only users with Project Admin access can configure Constraint Types.

In the left-side navigation menu, go to Project Settings > Entity Settings > IWPs in the Project Settings menu.

Click on the + sign above the grid.

To learn more about configuring Constraint Types, click here.

O3 supports auto-created constraints, either once a package is initialized or it transitions into a specific status. Click here to learn more.

Navigating to the Constraints Tab

In the left-side navigation menu, click on Work Packages > Installation (IWPs), then select an IWP from the grid.

Click on the Constraints tab in the Detail Form.

Manually Creating & Updating Constraints

Click on the + icon above the grid.

You can update the constraint's status by clicking on it in the grid > clicking one of the status buttons at the bottom of the Constraint Details form.

Note: you must have edit permissions for constraints to do this.

O3 also supports subtasks and approvals to help track progress on clearing your constraints.
