This article explains the various features of the O3 Pie Chart widgets and how they can be used to display data on dashboards.

Basics

Pie charts are available for many data streams in O3. The example below is an IWP Pie Chart, which, by default, shows the number and percentage of IWPs in each configured IWP Status.

To configure the pie chart, select the Action menu in the upper right-hand corner of the chart.

Select Settings.

The widget settings dialog window is displayed as shown below.

Common Settings

  • Title - allows you to adjust the title that is displayed on top of the dashboard widget

  • Primary Group - select the primary data grouping that is represented in the different wedges of the pie chart widget

  • Value - select the measurement that will be represented on the width of the wedges of the pie chart widget

Changing the Primary Group

To change the Primary Group, click in the Search field below the Primary Group heading.

Click on a group name to select it. For this example, we will select Modified By User. After saving, the chart adjusts to show the number of IWPs by Modified By User.

See Grouping, Sorting, and Formatting Data for information on how to further customize data groups.

Changing the Value

To change the Value represented in the tile, click in the Search field below the Value heading.

Click on a value name to select it. For this example, we will select Open Constraint Count (Sum). After saving, the chart adjusts to show the Open Constraint Count (Sum) per Modified By User.

Pie Chart Options

On the widget settings dialog, click the Pie Chart Options heading to open the panel.

Common Settings

  • Legend Position - allows you to move the legend to the left, top, right, or bottom of the widget, or hide it entirely by selecting None

  • Label Position - allows you to move the value labels inside or outside of the wedges, or align the labels in columns on the outside of the wedges

  • Font Size - adjust the font size from small, medium, or large

  • Use Name for Labels - displays the name of each group in its label above the value

  • Doughnut - removes the center of the pie chart, and turns it into a doughnut chart

The chart below has been configured with "Use Name for Labels" and "Doughnut" turned on.

Filters

See Filtering Widget Data to learn how to apply filters to O3 dashboard widgets.

Drill Down Options

The Pie Chart widget also supports the ability to customize the drill down option. This determines to where you will navigate within O3 when you click within the pie chart.

Dashboard

The Dashboard option allows you to select a dashboard to which you will navigate when you click within the pie chart.

Source Data

This is the default option within settings. Selecting Source Data will take you to the source data associated with the pie chart when you click within the pie chart. You can also specify a layout type to further customize your view.

None

Selecting the drill down option of None disables the drill down option within the pie chart all together.
