The Safety Observations tab allows you to:

  1. Set the Mask Settings used to autogenerate Safety Observations.

  2. Configure the Data Requirements for Safety Observations.

General Settings

Under General Settings, Project Admins can configure the mask settings applied to the Safety Observations their users will create.

In short, a Mask is a coding structure used to autogenerate the name of an entity in O3.

For example, in the image above, we see that the Mask includes (1) the project's code, (2) SO, and (3) a counter. This counter will begin at the Starting Sequence Number you've set under the Mask Settings.

Once you've created a couple of test Safety Observations, you should begin to understand how the Mask Settings work.

Data Requirements

Under Data Requirements, Project Admins can specify which data they do and do not want required upon Safety Observation creation. You should notice three columns:

  1. Not Required - this field is optional when filling out the Safety Observation form.

  2. System Required - this field will be populated automatically by O3. Note that only the Name field can be System Required for Safety Observations.

  3. Always Required - this field must be populated before the Safety Observation can be created.

To make a field optional or required, simply drag-and-drop it in its respective column.

Be sure to click Save Changes in the upper-right corner once you're done!

Fields that are required will be highlighted in red in the Safety Observation form.
