While this article applies to most Entities in O3, we will be using IWPs as an example.

Expand the navigation menu and click on (1) Workface Planning > (2) IWPs.

Expand the navigation menu and click on (1) Work Packages > (2) Installation (IWPs).

Both options will bring you to the Installation Work Packages grid.

Like constraints, approvals can be created a couple different ways.

To create an approval, select an Installation Work Package (IWP) in the grid. and go to Approvals.

And click on the + above the Approvals list.

In most cases, approvals will be created automatically once your work package reaches a certain point of its workflow.

For example, the Verify Safety Documentation and Construction Manager Signoff approvals are automatically generated once our IWP reaches the Ready for Review stage.

To manage an approval, click on its pencil icon.

This will bring up the Approval Details form.

Approvals follow a two-step process.

In step 1, the approval is submitted via the Submit button. This means that whoever is assigned the approval will get a notification that it needs to be reviewed.

In step 2, the approver needs to decide whether to approve or reject the approval.

Choosing Reject will prompt the approver to provide rejection notes.

Which can be viewed in the Approvals list.

Choosing Approve will close out the approval.
