When you log into O3, you should see something like the image below.

This is a dashboard. From here, you can navigate between the different parts of O3.

Note that the dashboard shown here is likely different from the one you're seeing.

There are 2 parts to O3 navigation:

  1. The Application Context Menu.

  2. The left-side navigation menu.

Application Context Menu

The Application Context Menu is on the very left side of your screen. Depending on your level of permissions, you might see the following tabs:

Overview

Overview allows for cross-project reporting - users can report on metrics at a plant level via dashboard.

Projects

This is where all your project's data is stored. Note that the amount of data you have access to depends on your level of permissions.

You can change projects by clicking on the Project Selector and then selecting your project.

Recently viewed projects will show up in the dropdown. To go to a project you've never accessed, click on Browse All Projects.

Training

Here, users can sign up for training and track their required learning. Training admins can create courses, register users for training, create learning paths, and track their trainees' progress.

To learn more about our Training application, check out our Training article collection.

System or Plant Admin

This is where your site's system or plant admin(s) can configure system-or plant-level settings. Note: you will only see this icon if you are a system or plant admin.

To learn more, check out our Admin article collection.

Left-Side Navigation Menu

You can expand and collapse the left-side menu by clicking on the 3 lines in the top-left corner of the screen.

The top button in the left-side menu will bring you to the last dashboard you viewed. Every other line can be expanded and collapsed by clicking on it.

Depending on your level of permissions, you might see the following items:

Actions

Manage actions assigned to you (My Actions), or by action type, like approvals or constraints.

Work Packaging

Our most built out area in O3. Here you can develop and manage your project's work packages.

Teams

Manage your project's tasks using Team Boards or your organization's objectives using Team Goals.

Project Admins can create and assign users to Project Teams to restrict access to certain Team Boards.

Click on these links to learn more about Team Boards and Team Goals.

Project Information

This is where all data complementary to your work packages lives, like mechanical equipment and models.

Tools

Import data and view data-driven reports. You can also see what approvals and constraints are open, as well as what items you're watching.

Project Settings

Here Project Admins can configure their project's settings.

You can also access this by going to Actions > My Actions in the left-side navigation menu.
