What is a Project Admin?

Project Admins are given access to the Project Settings menu.

Here, Project Admins can

  • Manage project-level dropdowns and configurations.

  • Add new or existing users to their project, as well as remove them from the project.

  • And grant them Project Roles and assign them to Project Teams.

What is a Plant Admin?

Plant Admins are given access to the (1) Plant Admin menu and the (2) Plants grid. Selecting a Plant in the grid will bring you to the Plant Details menu.

Plant Admins can

  • Assist users with logging in by sending password reset links.

  • Manage plant-level dropdowns and configurations.

  • Create new projects and Project Templates.

  • Create new roles for their plant.

  • Assign users plant-wide access to all projects within the plant.

Plant Admin and Project Admin are two completely different roles in O3. There is no hierarchical relationship between them; however, a Plant Admin can be made a Project Admin for all projects within that plant via the Users grid.

What is a System Admin?

System Admins are given access to the System Admin menu.

System Admins can do everything in O3. While having the permissions of a Project and Plant Admin, they can also

  • Create new users at the system level, as well as permanently delete accounts.

  • Create API users for system integrations.

  • Unlock and deactivate or reactivate user accounts.

  • Manage site-wide settings (e.g., enable SAML SSO login, set account deactivation upon inactivity, permit and prohibit specific file types for upload, etc.) and configurations.

  • Create site-wide roles.
