New to Plot Plans? Start here by learning how to create your new Plot Plan and upload a background image.

Navigation

Interested in trying out our new navigation menu? Click here.

New Navigation

(1) Expand the left-side menu and click on (2) Early Planning > (3) Path of Construction.

Classic Navigation

(1) Expand the left-side menu and click on (2) Project Information > (3) Plot Plans.

Either of the above navigations will bring you to the Plot Plans grid.

Choose your desired Plot Plan in the grid. You should see the background image you uploaded previously.

Drawing Shapes

Before we can draw shapes on our Plot Plan, we need to switch to the Configuration view.

(1) Click on the View button in the top-right and choose (2) Configuration View.

In this view, we can make changes to our Plot Plan.

To draw a shape, click on the desired type of shape in the toolbar.

For example, we can choose Rectangle and draw a box to represent one of our Construction Work Areas in our Plot Plan.

For non-standard shapes, we can draw a Polygon instead.

When you're done drawing your polygon, click on the red box.

Linking Shapes to Entities

Now that we've drawn our shapes, we need to link them to the Entities they're representing in the Plot Plan.

(1) Select a shape in the Plot Plan then (2) click Link in the toolbar.

Choose your desired Entity Type in the list. For this example we'll choose CWA.

(1) If you're linking an existing Construction Work Area, select it in the grid. To create a new CWA on the fly, (2) click on Create New.

Then fill out the resulting form.

What's Next?

Now that we've drawn our shapes, we can add them to layers to let us filter our Plot Plan.
